On behalf of the children the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois serves, we would like our heartfelt thanks to all the riders, volunteers, sponsors and vendors for a truly successful 2008 Pedal for Wishes. Through your generosity and support, the wishes of over 20 children living in Illinois with life-threatening medical conditions will come true this summer; bringing them hope, strength and joy!
It was a wonderful day of celebration and cheers for Ryan and his family as we collectively granted his wish - To Ride a Bicycle. We were honored to share the power of a wish with you. This magical day wouldn’t have been the same without you! We look forward to seeing you at Pedal for Wishes 2009, where we will once again celebrate the power of a wish.
Pedal For Wishes, presented by Westfield's Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, Illinois, is a fantastic, family-friendly event to be held June 7, 2008.
We are pleased to offer beautiful 10- and 35-mile bicycle rides through Chicago's scenic North Shore. New to the program this year is a Children's Pedal Parade! We welcome all children to join us in decorating their big wheels, tricycles, bicycles and wheelchairs for a special mini-ride through the Old Orchard Shopping Center.
All riders, participants, supporters and volunteers are invited to celebrate after the ride with a complimentary lunch, music and fun activities. With your support, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois hopes to raise $150,000, enough funds to grant the wishes of 30 children in Illinois living with life-threatening medical conditions. |
